Benefits of Music Education

Gab Kallay Music focuses on reading and notation, rhythm, composition, ear training and technique. Students will learn music theory, including scales, chord theory and practice strategies. We will touch on composers, characteristics of their music and influences of their historical period. 

Particularly in this digital age, learning how to play music requires focus, patience, repetition, spacial awareness and tactile learning. For many years, researchers have touted the benefits of music education. Studying music facilitates learning in other subjects including math and language, while enhancing mental processing and fine motor skills.
